We are developing a lower-cost portable system which allows passive RFID tags to be tracked on a flat surface. By creating a system that tracks the 2-D position of multiple tags, it is possible to create a variety of applications ranging from multi-user interactive tabletops as well as RFID smart shelves, using simple low-cost IC-tags.
