Sara V. Fernandez, a first-year graduate student in the Conformable Decoders group, was selected as the sole MIT awardee of the 2024 Amazon Fulfillment Technologies and Robotics (Amazon FTR) Day One Fellowship. 

The Amazon FTR Day One Fellowship is a prestigious program aimed at empowering emerging leaders from backgrounds historically underrepresented in STEM. Well-rounded experience, notable scholastic achievement, and the desire to contribute to the advancement of the fields of robotics, science, technology, and engineering through graduate studies and research are hallmarks of Amazon FTR Day One Fellows. Since its inception in 2021, the program has produced 27 fellows, fostering a strong community and shaping future leaders from top universities through the provision of full scholarships, mentorship, and career opportunities. A total of seven students were selected to receive this award for 2024.
