Mohammad Tariqul Islam has been awarded the MIT-Novo Nordisk Artificial Intelligence Postdoctoral Fellowship. He is a member of the Nano-Cybernetic Biotrek (NCB) research group led by Prof. Deblina Sarkar. Artificial intelligence (AI) is at the heart of NCB’s research, which fuses AI with life sciences. Working under the advisement of Prof. Sarkar, Tariq’s research will align with NCB’s two major research directions:
- Develop novel nanoelectronic devices
- Merge such next generation technologies with living-matter, creating unique nanomachine-bio hybrid systems for transforming healthcare
The MIT-Novo Nordisk Artificial Intelligence Postdoctoral Fellows Program supports postdoctoral fellows conducting research at the intersection of AI and data science with life sciences. Each year, the program will support a cohort of up to ten postdoctoral fellows for a two-year term.
Postdoctoral fellows participating in the program will receive professional development opportunities, including entrepreneurship-focused workshops, and mentorship from experts in both life science and data science.
