A team of Media Lab researchers won second place at the MIT AI Conference Hackathon AI Build. The theme for this year's hackathon was Generative Voice AI Solutions.
PhD students Cathy Fang (Fluid Interfaces), Sam Chin (Responsive Environments), and visiting student Phoebe Chua (Fluid Interfaces) were recognized for their startup idea Mirai, an AI-powered platform that empowers users to become their ideal selves by allowing them to practice conversations and hear themselves responding with confidence in their own voice.
All finalists received a certificate of participation, and the second place team received $10,000 of API credit from OpenAI, plus $500 per team.
