Dünya Baradari (Fluid Interfaces), Alvin Harvey (Space Enabled), and Cassandra Lee (Center for Constructive Communication) have earned honorable mentions for the 2024 Envisioning the Future of Computing Prize. Their essay submissions were:

• "Open-Source Wearable AI – From Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia (2044)" by Dünya Baradari and Aida Baradari
• "Indigenous Language Revitalization Through AI and Community – From Grandma to Ippo’si’" by Ryan Conti, Nicole McGaa, and Alvin Harvey
• "PIGs! Playful Interactive Gathering Technology" by Cassie Lee

The Envisioning the Future of Computing Prize received nearly 67 essay submissions, in which MIT undergraduate and graduate students shared their ideas, aspirations, and vision for what they think a future propelled by advancements in computing holds. Honorable mentions each received a cash prize of $1,000.

The Envisioning the Future of Computing Prize is presented by the Social and Ethical Responsibilities of Computing (SERC), a cross-cutting initiative within the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing, in collaboration with the MIT School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
