Deviation Game (Outdraw.AI) wins Most Creative App | Gemini API Developer Competition

From May 15, 2024 to August 12, 2024, developers entered a competition to create apps with Google's Gemini API. Nine winners were selected across all categories; an app called Deviation Game (formerly titled Outdraw.AI), co-developed by Fluid Interfaces researcher Kye Shimizu, was the winning entry for Most Creative App

Deviation Game is a co-op party game for two to six players that pits human creativity against AI perception. The player's goal is draw things humans can understand, but an image recognition AI can't. Flipping Alan Turing’s revolutionary 1950 Imitation Game on its head, Deviation Game encourages players to fool the AI instead of the AI trying to fool them.

The game is not open access yet, but the development team will be exhibiting the game soon at the Chicago Science Museum and the Exploratorium in San Francisco, CA.
