The space economy is expected to grow to $1.8 trillion by 2035, creating unprecedented opportunities for innovation and value creation in every sector and industry. By converging with other emerging technologies, utilizing the uniqueness of the space environment, and building new business models, space can be an enabler to address major global challenges and help scale terrestrial businesses.
The World Economic Forum's (WEF) 2025-2026 Global Future Council (GFC) on Space will provide thought leadership and edge thinking on possible solutions to ensure a balanced and accelerated approach to the energy transition. The Council will generate insights for organizations, investors and governments as they grapple with major space sector challenges. GFC Members will also seek to create impact and build on work done in the previous GFC on Space and connect to other relevant Forum activities.
