Avani Ahuja has been awarded the prestigious Barry Goldwater Scholarship. She is a member of the Conformable Decoders research group led by Prof. Canan Dagdeviren. The group’s research focuses on developing conformable and flexible electronic systems for healthcare and biomedical applications. Working under the direction of Prof. Dagdeviren, Avani participated in research on the conformable ultrasound breast patch for wearable breast ultrasound.
The Goldwater Foundation financially supports undergraduates who intend to pursue research careers in engineering, the sciences, and medicine. This year, the foundation gave out awards to 425 students out of a pool of 5,000 college sophomores and juniors.
