A-Team Links

As we continue our research, we do two things; we write up the work we've done, including examples of how to use software, etc, and we scour the internet and journals for more information. Here's a list of links we've created over time:

Adam's Page - More on our research

How To's:

Protel 99 - (by Joshua Strickon) A detailed page describing how to use Protel 99 software. However, this is somewhat out of date as Protel 99se has been released.

Protel 99se - (by Roshan Baliga) A (hopefully) continously updated page describing how to use Protel 99se software. Includes the current a-team schematic and PCB footprint libraries.

iRX 2.1 Board - (by Robert Poor) If you have never used an iRX board, you need to. It's a handy do-anything board complete with IR and serial networking.

Cool Parts - (by The A-team) A list of cool or hard-to-find parts the a-team has stumbled across.

Suppliers:

Digikey - An electronics distributor with a wide range of items and a decent stock. Order before 6 pm (EST) and you can get your parts the next morning. Our only complaint is that some parts are often out of stock and backordered.

Linx Technologies - Makes RF transmitter and receiver boards. Their boards are pretty small, and operate on a wide range of voltages. Unfortunately, within the Medialab, we haven't been successful with RF at 418 Mhz or 433 Mhz. 900 Mhz (variable from 902-918) works okay, but the old wavelans may cause collisions.

Microchip - Makers of popular Pic programmble IC's used in almost everything we make. Our favorites are the 16F84 and the 16F874.
