TECH  ⋂  DESIGN  ⋂  POLICY

Co-lead, New Mobility

Phil joined City Science in 2015 as a Master’s student in Urban Transportation Planning to develop his thesis project on combining interactive data visualization and Accessibility simulation as a  tool for transit policy simulation and community engagement.

As Research Scientist, Phil is responsible for growing the group’s micro-mobility research  portfolio, cross-sector engagements, and international partnerships. His research focuses on pushing the applications of Human-Machine Interaction (HMI), agent-based fleet simulations, and policy development for new urban mobility systems and services.  Phil is passionate about integrating the best of human intuitionmachine intelligence, and institutional policies to enable system-scale transformations that strengthen communities and human mobility.

Outside of his day-to-day research, Phil supports the Director’s Office on the development and maintenance of key sponsor relationships, through co-creating R&D projects and engagement activities for building innovation capacities.
