Museum of Science (MoS) - Naroa Coretti Sánchez
Naroa is an engineer and inventor from the Basque Country, a beautiful region in northern Spain, who currently lives in East Boston. Her native languages are Spanish and Basque, and she also speaks a bit of Italian because that's where one of her grandparents is from.
As a little girl, Naroa was very curious and creative. Through spending time with her father --who, despite not having formal education, is a great engineer and inventor-- Naroa discovered her passion for innovation and problem solving. Inspired by this, she decided to study mechanical engineering, she later on did a master's degree in industrial technologies. She is currently a PhD candidate at the MIT Media Lab.
One thing that's really important to Naroa is creating a world that is more sustainable and fair for everyone. That's why she's so passionate about her work at MIT, where she is focused on developing new urban mobility systems. These systems aim to make it easier for people to walk and bike around cities, which not only makes them healthier but also helps in protecting the environment.
But it's not all work, she also loves to have fun! She loves running, skiing, hiking, and reading. During the weekends, she enjoys discovering new places in Boston and spending quality time with her loved ones.
