Chrisoula is a graduate student research assistant in the Changing Places group at the MIT Media Lab. She graduated with her Bachelor of Architecture from the City College of New York, CUNY, and then received a Master of Architecture II from Harvard's Graduate School of Design. During her time at the GSD, she was a research assistant for Harvard's Responsive Environments and Artifacts Lab where her work was centered around human experience and perception of transportation systems in Bergamo, Italy. She also worked for IDEO in the Bits + Blocks Lab designing futures for decentralized identity systems on the blockchain. Prior to her Masters studies, Chrisoula also worked in the New York based architecture firm, BKSK as an intern in their new Lab for sustainable practices in architecture.
Chrisoula's work is situated in the intersections of design, media and technology and has engaged in topics ranging from wearables, soft electronics, architecture, graphic design, product design, and human perception. Chrisoula's current interests are in the world of soft electronics, material intelligence and closed loop sensing and responsive systems for architecture. In the City Science Group, she is currently working on developing new experiences for architecture, and investigating material intelligence.
