Mr. Pallotta began his professional career at Essex Investment Management Company, Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts. He joined Essex in 1983 as a vice president and began directing client capital in January 1987. In 1989, Mr. Pallotta became a senior vice president and director of research and was appointed to the board of directors of Essex in 1990.
Mr. Pallotta joined Tudor Investment Corporation as the managing director of the U.S. Equity Securities Group in 1993. He became a member of the Management Committee in 1996 and was named vice-chairman in 2005. He also served as a director, executive manager, and member of the Capital Allocation Committee of Tudor Group Holdings. At Tudor, Mr. Pallotta was the principal portfolio manager for Raptor Global Funds, which he launched in 1993 with $200 million in assets under management. At its peak, Mr. Pallotta was responsible for managing in excess of $11 billion of assets under the Raptor strategy. Mr. Pallotta played an integral role with respect to Tudor’s efforts in direct and co-investments in private equity and third party hedge funds. He served as one of three members on Tudor Ventures’ Investment Committee.
In 2009, Mr. Pallotta spun out from Tudor and founded Raptor Group, a Boston-based investment management firm that is principally his family office.
Mr. Pallotta is president and chairman of AS Roma as well as co-owner and executive board member of the Boston Celtics. Mr. Pallotta is a member of the board of directors of Northeastern University, the Santa Fe Institute, American Academy in Rome, and New Profit, Inc. He also serves on the Advisory Council of the MIT Media Lab and Tulco, LLC., and the External Advisory Committee for the MIT Center for Brains, Minds and Machines.
Mr. Pallotta received a BBA in Finance from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA with concentration in accounting from Northeastern University.
