Elinor Poole-Dayan

Elinor is a Master's student at the MIT Media Lab Center for Constructive Communication. She completed her undergraduate degree at McGill University in Montréal, Canada in Honours Mathematics and Computer Science. Her research background is in Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a particular focus on addressing harmful biases in large language models to promote fairness and safety. She is passionate about the ethical implications of AI and hopes to develop responsible NLP tools for social good applications and to promote AI literacy. Beyond her academic pursuits, Elinor gets excited about linguistics and abstract math (especially category theory!). In her free time, she enjoys playing ultimate frisbee and nurturing a growing collection of house plants.
