Prof. Danielle Wood and PhD candidate Ufuoma Ovienmhada presented on Satellite Data for Air Quality Environmental Justice and Equity Applications for NASA's ARSET training in August 2023. Satellite Data for Air Quality Environmental Justice and Equity Applications is a new, open, online webinar series hosted by NASA's Applied Remote Sensing Training Program (ARSET). In collaboration with the Health and Air Quality Science Team (HAQAST) Tiger Team on Satellite Data for Environmental Justice, this intermediate-level training demonstrated how remotely-sensed environmental indicators, specifically for air pollution, can be paired with demographic data to understand disproportionate exposures among minoritized and marginalized population subgroups. The primary focus of this training was on environmental justice issues in the United States, with some additional examples from around the world.
