The Space Enabled research group will be featured on the educational television show called "Xploration Outer Space" hosted by MIT Alum Emily Calandrelli. The live episode will be broadcast during the weekend of March 13-14 for most Fox channels. For the Boston area, the broadcast should be available on Fox on Sunday, March 14 at 11:30am ET. Emily Calandrelli, known as the Space Gal, graduated from MIT's Aeronautics and Astronautics & Technology Policy Programs with a Dual Master of Science Degree in 2010. Danielle and Emily were students in these programs together. Emily is the Emmy-nominated Host of the Xploration Outer Space television show. As Host, Emily explains concepts and achievements in the space field by visiting various NASA facilities, private space companies, and interviewing space experts in search of answers about our universe. Emily is also the Host and Co-Executive Producer of Emily’s Wonder Lab on Netflix, she's featured as a correspondent on Netflix’s Bill Nye Saves the World, and she is an Executive Producer and host of FOX's Xploration Outer Space. Emily is also the author of the science chapter book series, the Ada Lace Adventures.
Before the campus closures for the pandemic, the Xploration Outer Space Team visited Space Enabled to interview Danielle Wood about the mission of the group, see a demonstration from Dr. Javier Stober highlighting our research on wax as a fuel for satellites, and meet students including Alana Sanchez, Juliet Wanyiri, and Ufuoma Ovienmhada.
