Media Lab Immersion @Tokyo

< Media Lab Members and Invited Guests Only >

We are pleased to invite our members to an exclusive event showcasing four talented students from the MIT Media Lab, who are developing groundbreaking hardware projects with applications in everyday life, health, and environmental sustainability. The MIT Media Lab is renowned for its interdisciplinary approach, fostering innovation by blending seemingly unrelated fields of research. Through this event, we aim to provide new insights and explore potential opportunities for collaboration and business applications.

  • Cayden Pierce will introduce Glossana, a project that transforms language learning using AR smart glasses and brain-sensing technology. This innovative tool enhances real-world conversations through features like live translations and contextual suggestions, accelerating fluency for learners.
  • Cedric Honnet will present FiberCircuits, which embeds miniature flexible PCBs, microcontrollers, and sensors directly into textile fibers. This technology enables seamless integration of electronic functionality into clothing, opening up exciting possibilities for wearable technology.
  • Jason Hou will share his work on Microfabricated Interfaces for Brain Stimulation & Cancer Treatment. His project focuses on advanced microfabricated devices for neuromodulation and cancer therapies, using techniques like transfer printing and biocompatible materials to connect electronics to biological systems.
  • Patrick Chwalek will introduce Enhancing Biodiversity Conservation through Innovative Ecological Monitoring Solutions, featuring BuzzCam and CollarID. These tools provide real-time environmental data and monitor wildlife behavior, contributing to biodiversity conservation and offering valuable insights into animal habitats.
