A number of Media Lab alumni are participating at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES). CES showcases manufacturers, developers, and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, technology delivery systems, and more. It includes a conference program where business leaders and pioneering thinkers address the industry's most relevant issues. 

The 43rd IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE 2025) is the IEEE Consumer Technology Society’s annual flagship conference that takes place in conjunction with CES. ICCE 2025 will bring together top professionals from industry, government, and academia from around the world. The theme of the conference is "Imaginations with Consumer Technology."

Organized by the Consumer Technology Association, CES is held annually at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Media Lab community members participating in CES / ICCE 2025:

• University of Toronto Professor and Media Lab alum Steve Mann (Perceptual Computing) is the recipient of the 2025 IEEE Masaru Ibuka Consumer Electronics Award. The awards ceremony will take place on January 12, 2025.
• Augmental, a Media Lab spinoff co-founded by Fluid Interfaces alum Tomás Vega and collaborator Corten Singer, is an Innovation Award honoree in the category of Accessibility + AgeTech. Oscar Rosello, Head of Design at Augmental, is also a Fluid Interfaces alum.
  
• Brelyon, a Media Lab spinoff co-founded by former Camera Culture researcher and visiting scientist Dr. Barmak Heshmat, announced its next generation visual display, as well as its collaboration with NVIDIA to develop a generative display engine that auto-generates derivative visual content in real time.
