Kent Larson recently traveled to Shanghai, China to meet with collaborators at Tongji University, College of Design and Innovation. The trip included meetings with Tongji Vice President, Yongqi Lou (also the Director of the City Science Lab @ Shanghai) and other Tongji faculty, a workshop with Tongji designers and City Science Lab researchers, and discussions about ongoing and upcoming projects including work on NICE2035 and the HuangPu Central Innovation Area. 

The visit culminated in a keynote from Kent on Transformative Communities. The keynote overviewed current work by the City Science group at MIT and highlighted projects from the City Science Network. Kent emphasized the importance of community scale solutions that enable a more sustainable and equitable future for inhabitants.
