Welcome to the opening night of the 14th annual Women Take the Reel Film Festival! Join us at the Bartos Theater for a special evening celebrating environmental resistance and justice. Opening night features the award winning documentary Necessity: Climate Justice and the Thin Green Line, directed by Jan Haaken & Sam Praus, offering visual power and drama to the struggles of people from different backgrounds and regions of the country who come together to stop industries that threaten their communities and life on the planet.

Alongside this captivating film, we'll also host a conversation with director Jan Hasken and a local environmental activist group which will enable you to become advocates and allies in this fight. Following the film and conversation is a light reception!

• 7-8pm - Exclusive Q&A: Meet co-director Jan Haaken in conversation with local activists for an in-depth conversation after the screening.
• 8-9pm - Reception & Mingling: Hang out with the filmmaker, climate champions, and fellow film lovers at the intimate Bartos Theatre venue.
