Motorola anchors second round financing in WatchPoint Media, Inc.

Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) announced today that it has made an equity investment in WatchPoint Media, Inc., an innovator of interactive video authoring tools and client technology. The Motorola investment, led by Motorola Ventures, the strategic venture capital arm of the global communications company, is the first part of a larger round of investment WatchPoint will announce later in March 2001.

Spun out of the MIT Media Lab, WatchPoint has developed tools and systems to support the production, distribution and display of compelling interactive video content. At the core of WatchPoint's extensive authoring tool suite is a revolutionary video hyperlinking technology that enables viewers to surf within video to explore direct commerce and enhanced content opportunities. WatchPoint's scalable interactive solution empowers viewers with analog or digital cable, broadcast satellite or Web access to watch, point at, and interact with moving objects in video.
