With US healthcare expenditures topping $3.5 trillion in 2017, staying healthy is a rich person's game. Wouldn't it be easier for patients and doctors if home-based robot assistants could gently nudge you to take meds, get exercise, and generally stay on top of your health?
MIT-educated Dr. Cory Kidd, founder and CEO at Catalia Health, thinks so. His solution, known as Mabu ("May-Bu"), launched in 2018; it's just 15 inches high, with highly expressive eyes and a lightly modulated and pleasing voice.
