Transdermal Drug Delivery
In article 2300066, Canan Dagdeviren and co-workers report a soft, conformable embodiment of a wearable ultrasound patch for transdermal delivery of cosmeceuticals to the skin. The patch comprises a 2D array of bulk piezoelectric transducers embedded in a poly(dimethylsiloxane) substrate. The patch demonstrates a 26.2-fold enhancement in the delivery of niacinamide to porcine skin in vitro with 10 min ultrasound application.
